Adding to their growing Italian lexicon, Biere Moretti being the rest, a 7 strong group from CuChulainn made the journey to Siena, Tuscany to witness this year’s Strade Bianche.

Francis Lafferty, Tony and Roisin Richardson, Peter Sharkey and Eamonn Murtz O Muircheartaigh took on the very challenging Grande Fondo having been sent on their way by cheerleaders and flag bearers Jason Boyle and Ray Culligan.

Europe’s most southerly northern classic, (there’s an oxymoron for you), the Gran Fondo takes in the same gravel roads tackled by the greats including the epic climb to the finish at Piazza del Campo that has left more than one great champion in tears. Not so for our bunch of CuChulainn CC warriors who could still manage a smile crossing the finish line.
